Inventor Users Groups (Nationwide)

I have been asked by Autodesk to help start a Tampa Bay Area (FL) users
group. In addition groups are being formed in other major areas of the
country. There is a Streamline site setup for each group where data
exchange, meeting notes, models, and tips and tricks can be shared. If you
are interested in joining these fledgling group post here or contact me at
(tbiug at comcast dot net) for Tampa Bay (and all of FL, there may end up
being multiple groups in FL) and post here for the rest of the country. A
representative from Autodesk is looking to help the users start a user group
in a city nearby and will be monitoring the newsgroup and contacting those
interested. If there is a group already in your area they will put you in
touch with the proper people.

Remember only email me directly for the state of FL.

Thanks,

My apologies to our friends to the North. I believe that Canadian groups
are being formed as well. Heck isn't part of Michigan in Canada anyway..

I'm not so sure about groups for Europe and Aisa at this point...

I know of a dealer that mentioned they were toying with the idea of starting one as well near north eastern Pennsylvania. What is required for them to do so? I know we had an Autocad usergroup. It was impossible to get in to no one returned emails or phone calls when I inquired about joining it. I think if the dealer runs the club it will be more reputable. Good for the relations for dealer too. dealer=reseller or what ever word you want to use. It might make the charge services vs. helping the IV community hard for them but if they sell more by doing that then so be it. Does anyone see this as a conflict of interest? or is it a good idea?

Many users groups are sponsored in part by a
VAR.  It's been that way for many years.

I believe Imaginit does an IV users group in Seattle. I belong to the
Portland group and have seen a Seattle one listed on their schedule of
events. Check it out at www.imaginit-tech.com.

Thanks Patrick

Looking at their site it lists the Oregon one and a couple others, but none for Seattle.
Guess I could just call them, but that would make it to easy They are right in the
heart of Seattle, 8^0 .....somewhere I try to avoid if at all possible anytime close to
rush hour, but I would probably give it a shot of they started one.

I agree, I was working in Mukilteo before moving back to the Portland area.
I don't think I would have bothered trying to go to any meeting downtown.
Something I noticed is that the list of events is by default only those
scheduled this month. I expanded the search back to October and there were
some Seattle meetings listed, so they do have them. There wasn't a Portland
meeting scheduled for this month either. I believe they are doing a
Streamline training seminar instead. Anyway, keep checking back to that
site, they may have a meeting in January. I think they normally do it the
second Tuesday of the month.

Yes, there is an Inventor User Group forming in NE
PA in the Lehigh Valley area (Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton).  Our first night
is tonight (12/4).  We have about 17 people coming from various
companies.
