inventor ultimate 2015 trial hangs up at main screen

I have a subscription for the pdsu, but havent got my serials yet, so I installed the trial version of 2015. When I load inventor it gets to the main screen but hangs up as if it loading something. In the taskmanager the program isnt using anymore memory and is at a stand still. Is anybody else having this problem?

its probaby the new home screen

go to big I>options>general tab>uncheck show my home on startup

It locks up, I cant click on anything, but I still can move the arrow.

I have had this happen on an install also.  I have turned off the home screen in applications options and all was resolved.

HOWEVER .. does anyone know what the root cause of this issue is?  I have several more installs and i would like to avoid this issue, we would also like to be able to utilize the new home screen to keep consistancy across the 18 seats currently in use.

Upon further investigation on this issue .....

I noticed that the install in question had the Fences program on it.

We uninstalled it, turned on the home window and rebooted, everything works fine now.

This may have solved this particular install but i am not confident i have determined true root cause yet.

DId you apply Inventor 2015 SP1..  This will resolve the issue.   It was reported at one time..  This issue was related to how anti-virus software was restricting the interface that launched the home screen.

funny you mention that i went, i downloaded the patches this morning and went to install on my system (which worked fine).

It seemed to lock up, so i rebooted and tried to install again ... no luck.

How long does this update take?

It has been running on my machine for 1/2 hour.

Started to worry about 2015, maybe should have skipped this one.

My system was working fine but i installed the Service Pack and updates to verify they did not cause additional problems.

Well they did cause issues with my system.

They error messages i get are linked to the new home screen, i have turned off this feature in the application options and i no longer have an issue.

So the moral of the story is ... If it is not broke don"t fix it..

I have attached the windows that pop up when launching product.

error 1 comes up first, then error 2 and then error 1 comes back

once windows are gone you are unable to select anything on the home window except the x in upper right corner to close it.

Frustrating release for sure.
