INVENTOR TO UNIGRAPHICS

IS THERE A WAY TO SAVE MY INVENTOR JOBS SO THAT WHEN YOU OPEN THEM UP IN UNIGRAPHICS IT STILL WILL HOLDS ITS PARAMETRIC CONSTRAINTS SO THEY CAN BE EDITED STILL?

I don't know Unigraphics but I very much doubt it. I'm not aware of the ability to trade models between any CAD system and keep it parametric. Most likely you would have to translate it into a STEP file and then bring it into Unigraphics as a dumb solid.

That would be feature based translation (the holy
grail of translators).  To the best of my knowledge (and I've done a lot of
research on this) no one currently has a feature based translator for
Inventor to another platform.

Best bet right now is to export as STEP or
SAT.

I think these guys have feature-based translators,
but I've never used them to know how they work first hand.

Only Catia to Unigraphics.  No one has a
Inventor friendly feature based translator right now.  Proficiency is
supposed to have one sometime this year.

Check out

Their Flexichanger software
will convert feature based midrange models. Looking at the website says nothing
about UG though. Perhaps Inventor to Solid Edge, Solid Edge to UG (I
think this a feature to feature trip). Let us know what you find
out.

I'd like to know if anyone uses this service.
I tried to get a sample translation from them several times but they never
returned my emails.
