Inventor Re-install problem

I just installed a new HD on my machine. I combined the 2 drives I used
before on the new one. I decided to re install IV. I uninstalled the old
one, rebooted, and installed IV again. It gets about 75% thru and gives me
the error below (XP Home). I am an administrator. I have tried it from a
different account, and I get the same thing. Any way around this?

I know this sounds dumb, but any scratches or fingermarks on the cd surface? try a different cd disk.

No such luck.  I have used 2 different cd's
and 2 different cd drives.  I have installed to different partitions as
well.

Did you format the harddrive? If not, try to reset
permissions on the harddrive inclusing all subdirectories.

Maybe IV doesn't support WinxP home.

As far as Inventor knows it is running on XP.
The only difference between XP pro and XP home is the ability to bind to a
network. This plugs a security opening that the 98 class products
represented. (and makes $100 for Microsoft.)

Make sure that you are a member of the admin group on the PC.

If you installed an international version of Inventor, you will need the
help from product support to re-establish your license.

If nothing else works, delete Inventor from program files and the registry.
HKLM\Software\autodesk\Inventor
HKCU\Software\autodesk\Inventor
I then use Norton utilities Windoctor to clean up left over stuff. in the
registry.
At this point a re-install should work.

Had to do a Win-Wipe. I cleaned IV of the computer and out of the registry
I don't know how many times - couldn't get the install to finish. What a pile
of work just to change a drive, but its all done now.
