Hi all,
I've recently been trying to use some vendor-supplied files. When I go to generate an STL of the imported part, the spherical surface has weird 'indents' in it which are clearly errors in the triangle mesh. These indents are not visible in the normal inventor view. It gets most of the surface correct, so I'm not really sure what is wrong?
STEP/sldprt file of the part is here: http://www.thorlabs.com/thorproduct.cfm?partnumber=C240TME-B
To replicate the problem, simply import the STEP, go to export it as an STL (medium quality is fine) and press preview. Take a look at the center of the spherical side for the mesh error. I am using Inventor 2014 SP1.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks.
Hi Jeremy,
Sorry that you're having trouble with it, I've double-checked the file which I made in Inventor 2014 SP 1 Update 2. Can you confirm that you're using the same build?
Thanks,
Indy

Hi again Indy,
...all of the solid bodies are hidden and I can't unhide them?
Did you find the red End of Part marker in the feature browser?
Did you drag the red EOP marker down the feature tree revealing the features?
Hi Jeremy,
Did you have any success?
