Inventor drawings to laser cutter

Hello,
I am trying to use autodesk inventor to print on a laser cutter (Universal Laser Systems). The problem is whenever I model the part, and create a view on a drawing, inventor uses two lines and fills it in to create the drawing.

Is there any way to out put the drawing in a 100% scale VECTOR drawing?

Right click on the face in the PART file and pick "Export Face as..." You can save as dwg or dxf, both of which you should be able to import into your programming software.

Cheers,

Ryan

The cutter actually just hooks up like a normal printer, but It only picks out one color.

If I did that, then could I export it into a vector IMAGE? Or does autodesk have a drawing software that uses vectors?

>The cutter actually just hooks up like a normal printer,

Are you trying to "print" from an ipt or from an idw or dwg?

>inventor uses two lines and fills it in to create the drawing.

Can you attach a file that exhibits this behavior?

You could print from Autocad, 1:1 in one colour, just open the dwg or dxf file in Autocad and type plot.
