Inventor Drawing

As I understand its not possible to convert an inventor 2013 drawing to inventor 2010. So my question is, is it possible to give the client an autocad 2010 version of the drawing scaled 1:1 with the sheet and title block still there?

Inventor files are not backward compatible..

Just "save copy as" the idw to an autocad dwg file.

Then you can open and backsave in autocad if needed.

Can you just give them a PDF or do they need to edit the drawing for you?

They don't need to edit the drawing, but if I missed a dimension that they need, they should be able to open up the drawing and take it form the autocad file. That is why its important to keep the model 1:1 along with the sheet.

Have you tried exporting to .DWF format?

There is a free viewer so they will be able to print it, measure it, turn on/off layers. and they will not edit it.

Saving to autocad will keep the scale of the part 1:1

You can set the version of Acad in the Save Copy As dialog.

Open DWG in AutoCAD, right click over the layout tab and choose 'export to model space'. (I can't remember the exact wording!).

Check that the new file is back saved as rdyson suggested.
