Hi All,
I've got a fairly unique problem, I'm running Inventor 2014 SP2 and I find that Inventor is crashing every time I would otherwise expect to get a warning/error message i.e. when I try to put a dimension on a projected or fully constrained line Inventor will crash when it should just give me a warning message.
I really have not idea where to look for this one...
Any advice would be great!

Hi Gerhick,
I have a few ideas, they may or may not help:
1.Try clearing out the Temp folder (%temp%) sometimes the errors get stuck in the temp, when it can't dump the error to the temp folder location.
2. Export out the Application options (All of the Inventor settings) from a working computer and Import the Settings on the Non-working machine.
I also have a few questions that may help narrow down the issue.
Is this a win 7 machine? or Windows 8 (or 8.1)?
Are there any other programs having issues? (i.e are you seeing strange behaviour in word, excel, or other Autodesk products)
when you did the reinstall did you clear out ALL of the old file folders in all locations? (Program files, Appdata, and user profile locations - Local and roaming)
During an uninstall sometimes remnants of the product remain (Usually the Corrupt files causing the issue).
I hope this helps,
James Alger
gerhick,
Lets start with trying to reset Inventor with our downloadable reset utility:
If this does not do the trick, please provide us with the following reports:
Inventor Diagnostics
Microsoft DxDiag
I have attached PDFs if needed.
Thank you.
James - Yeah, I deleted all the temp files according to the clean uninstall procedure here: http://goo.gl/mCjcqo. Including all registry entries. I
I'm running Windows 7, I haven't noticed other programs experiencing similar issues - but I haven't spent much time using ACAD recently...
I don't have access to another PC, so I can't try the app setting suggestion.
Bob - Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try it later and report back.
Bob,
I've tried your suggestions, but still no luck so far.
I've attached copies of the two files requested.

gerhick,
Lets start by having you install the latest driver for your video card:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows%207%20-%2064
Although it is almost a year old, it seem to be to latest the AMD has for your video card and is a year newer than the one that you are utilizing.
Please try this and send us an update.
Thank you.
Hi! When it crashes, did you send crash report with your email address? If yes, could you send me an email (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com)? I would like to take a look at the reports.
Many thanks!
