Inventor crashes whenever I try to open this specific file.

after saving a car design (ipt file) on my USB at school, I brought it home to work on. When I opened the file, the assembly (left) list for the part briefly showed up, and proceeded to blank out, and crash inventor. When I open other files, it is fine, and when I open the assembly model, It can show up, but will constantly pop up an error saying the part failed to load, although it is right there on the screen. I am extremely frustrated and am wondering if there is a way to recover corrupted files. I have attached the file, and would appreciate any help provided. Thank you

There seems something wrong during saving this part file. Very sorry for the inconvenience. Do you have any copy of the original part file? I tried open this file with Inventor 2015 RTM but crash as well, and the bucket indicates that the data was corruption. Anyway, I'm sending this issue to developer to see if there is a way to prevent the crash.

Hi, here's a workaround which worked for me before.

But you need to know which part or assembly file is the problem.

1. Open a new assembly file

2. Place the part with problem into the assy.

3. Edit the part in the assy.

4. Save the part, not the assembly.

5. Close the assembly and try opening the problem part.

This worked for me.

Let me know what you got.

Does it work for you with this file?
I tried your steps and Inventor crashed.
