Inventor crash upon startup

I need some help with Inventor 11. It will crash after it is open and try to
open or start a new file.

Is this a new problem?
Are you running a certified graphics card/driver?
Open Inventor but before opening a file try going to Tools>Application Options>Hardware tab and see if changing from Direct 3D to Open GL makes a difference.

It is likely a graphics card/driver issue.

Have you verified that your graphics card and drivers are compatible?

Make sure your O/S has all Microsoft sp's

To verify that it is a graphics card issue, you can:

Select the Tools menu (prior to trying to open anything)
Select Application Options
Select the Hardware tab
Set your display to use software graphics (GDI)

This will run all graphics in emulation mode. It will be pretty slow but if
it works it means you have a graphics card/driver problem.
