Inventor 8.0 Wishlist ~ Partslist

When you create your partslist or start ballooning. You can select the all
parts version and not the top level version so that it will give you a Grand
total of how many times that component is listed. That works fine but if you
for example a weldment it will list out the ribs as individual components
not as a Weldment Detail and there is no way to change that. I draw my
cylinder's as a .iam also so that I can control the stroke (engage and
disengage) and they show up as indivual components also.

I could use "Visible" but I add a Custom property "Det" so that the detail
number would show up in the Partslist. Another thing that I would like to
see, when you Balloon a job I want to use "Det" instead of Item so that when
I have a component in another sub assembly the number will be the same.

I agree to both counts. I design prog dies and would like to BOM with the
subassembly type of tree but have a column for total items used, maybe at
the first instance in the BOM. We also would rather see part number in the
ballon, not item.

A option to be able to choose what you want in the balloon. Another thing
would a way to place add information in the "Comments" field next to the
ballon, for adding information about that component.
