Inventor 2015 takes 40s for startup and more than 60s for first loading

Are these normall?

  • Startup of Inventor Pro 2015 takes about 40 seconds
  • First loading of an assembly file (12 components) takes > 60 seconds. It takes similar time for the fisrt loading of a simple part after Inventor startup.

The test enviroment:

  • Fresh restart of Windows 7 Pro
  • Waited for more than 1 min after Win 7 startup to ensure that Windows was running normally
  • CPU:  Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4800MQ CPU @ 2.70GHz, 2701 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
  • SSD
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphic: NVIDIA Quadro K2100M (2GB Dedicate)
  • Product Design Suit Ultimate 2015

could be a project file problem, try running the same tests with default project selected

Thanks for the tips, Stephen.

Tested again.

1. Changed the active Project to Default.lpj. Nothing was changed in it since installed.

2. Restarted PC

3. Waited for more than 2 min after Win startup.

4. Started Inventor from the desktop icon, then started stopwatch on my phone.

5. Again, 40 seconds before it was ready for further operation

6. Clciked on "Standard.ipt" for a new part, then started the stopwatch on my phone

7. Better: 52 seconds before it is ready to make any operation

You have a fairly "slow" CPU..

Have you tried to disable the new "home" screen?

Are you opening files from a netork?

Have you made sure Inventor is up to date with hotfixes/service packs?

Have you tried disabling your virus software? <-- I'd lean towards this being the problem.

Thanks mcgyvr!

If the CPU is "fairly" slow, then Autodesk may have to change its system requirements to Inventor 2015.

* Never opened network file for my tests. It was meaningless.

* I am not sure if my Inventor is up-to-date. But Autodesk Application Manager did not find any update for my Inventor, told me it is up-to-date.

* Disableed "My Home", no help.

* I have not tried to disable my anti-virus software, because I do not have an extra anti-virus software.

During the startup, it takes about 20 seconds "Loading One Window for Inventor (5.0)" which was displayed in the status bar.
