Inventor 2014 Punch tooling issues

I have been using punch tooling for years with no issues until Inventor 2014. Now the punch tooling cuts out on the folded part, but only leaves center mark cross hairs on the flat pattern. The same is on my dxf files. The dxf files are used for the punch machine so it is critical that these cutouts show up. Has anyone else had this issue? And what was the solution?

Hi,

it sounds like the setting to just display the centermark as an "alternate Representation" for the Punch is turned on.

If you right click on the flat pattern browser node, you can select "Edit Flatpattern Definition".

In there is a combo box to select the way punches are shown.

Please let me know if this solves the problem.

Thanks,

Gerald

That worked, but why did default value change to something that does not show the feature?

It must have been saved in your sheetmetal template.

The default behavior is set in the sheetmetal Defaults->Sheetmetal Rule.

It is on the first tab (Sheet) at the bottom "Flat Pattern Punch Representation".

Gerald
