It's probably a lame suggestion, but have you tested all your memory modules?

I have not. I'll try and squeeze some time into my day for a memory test and report back with any findings.

No problems found in a 20 pass memory test. So that's not it.

Anyone else?

When you installed and/or re-installed the software did you make sure to turn off the virus software while doing it?

We have also had this issue when we had some imported components that contained some unnecessary surfaces included in them.

I've try the same problems. Try every suggestions, several Nvidia drivers, but not solve!

I've experienced that I start a NEW assembly, insert my assembly in it like a subassembly, it works fine!!

The behaviour is the same in two similar workstation.

I open a ticket with Autodesk in subscription center......and hope!

Thank to all have suggestion!

Still slow, still no solution in sight. Now on SP1 update 2, seems it got worse.

I've solved the problem in this way, but I'm not sure this is good for you too.

Oper the assembly and in Manage --> Styles-->Delete Styles delete all your unused styles in your assembly. Check all the solution in the left down corner of the pane, like in the .pdf attached.

Good luck!

We have had the same problem with 1 Machine running very slow compared with the others in our office.  Both are of a lower spec than the machine running slowly.

Having turned off the Anti-Virus (Trend) and trying lots of other things, we then tried the Admin Account (Windows 7) and it was MUCH faster.

We have not yet been able to set-up a new user account on the Machine, but when we do this I will let you know if it has made a difference.

My suggestion would be, that if you can log-in as a different user, or even try the admin account, Load Inventor and try the assembly again to see if it is your account?

I only tried this as I had Major Problems with Inventor 2014 NOT Starting.  It turned out to be a problem in the user account registry for Inventor and it was fixed WITHOUT having to create a new user account.

Re: Inventor 2014 Pro stupidly slow all of a sudden

Hi everyone,

Inventor Pro 2014, I also have a display problem here turning slow all of a sudden. I work with very large assemblies, 2600 files and 26000 occurences when showing Master Representation. I can open 2 or 3 large assemblies like these without a lag. Suddenly, one of them becomes very slow. I'm then unable to work with this assembly. 2 others still okay.

  1. Not always the same assembly has the problem.
  2. I tried a lot of things indicated here to find a solution without success.
  3. I tried to deactivate antivirus without success.
  4. Installation done as recommended.
  5. Hardware set to performance.
  6. Project setup is okay.
  7. CPU and RAM not overloaded. PC is 6 month old and we have 3 like this here.
  8. I'm admin on my PC.

Problem seems to appear when changing representations, but not every time. Sometimes slow "mode" last a few minutes, sometimes it stays until Inventor shutdown and restart.
