Inventor 2014 Editing part is not possible

Hi,

i'm not able to edit a part. all buttons on ribbon are grey.

need help.

I'm thinking we need more information ... Can you attach the part ... Are you trying to edit it in the part file, or in the Assembly with edit in place? Mike

Did the part come from Vault?

 

Maybe its marked as readonly?

A lot more information could really help..

 

Is this editing a part from inside an assembly? (if the part is already open you cannot edit it again)

I see this is a part from 2005/2006 ... was it imported in or was it originally model in Inventor? Mike

it is a copy from a present  part in Productstream Professional. I don't know from where it comes

Honestly, I was able to recreate the part quicker than it's been taking me to figure out why it's locked. You can copy the first sketch into a new ipt ...revolve it .. add the fillets and the extrusion thru the center. Sorry I don't have a quick button fix ... it this the only part giving you a problem Mike

i think it's the only one (but who knows that....)

I think it's better to recreate it completely new, so all is clean. It takes more time make forum questions than to do it new.

the argument that this is from INV 2006 is good for the boss to understand that.
