Inventor 2013 Can't delete Linked Excel Sheet

I have a excel sheet linked to my inventor file and I cant delete it. I really only need to change the starting cell, but I can't do that either. It works on some parts to right click on the folder in the parameters window and then select delete or change start cell, but on others it doesn't work. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thank You,

Steve

Try Tools > Links - then break/delete the link.

If that's not it, try posting the part here for investigation.  (What version of Inventor?)

I have had the same problem ages ago, and burried somewhere here in this discussion group is a small VBA routine that deletes all embeded documents from a given file.

Could you attach the file here? I have ever seen the similar issue, and used one section of VBA code lines to accomplish it.

Hello,

I have the same issue in 2014

I linked an xls to an iam

then I moved the parameters in the parameter dialog to user parameters

then I linked one parameter via iLogic to a part

then I deleted all xls parameters from the parameter list and deleted the used xls parameter in ilogic.

the parameter list still shows the link to the xls (but no entry).

It is not possible to delete

When I try to link the xls again to the assembly, I get an error message

thanks,

Norman

You could have a try the workflow below -

1. Create one new excel with one or two parameters defined

2. Invoke parameters table, link it, please see the attached image.

3. Right-click the linked parameter table, select "Delete Folder"

-> You will see the linked parameters from excel are removed.

Thanks,

But it doesn't help me 😞

1) I've created the xlsx file with the same name and in the same path, with two parameters in it

2) Tried to link it to a part file, but have got the error message "Копировать в существующий связанный элемент." (it's a Russian AIP 2014 version). I can't understand the meaning of this message. Think it's just a bad translation to Russian. Approximated translation is: "Copy into an existing linked element".

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I hope you're doing well.

I'm currently facing the same issue with xls used to create parameters and afterwards not able to delete that folder/links.

Have you had any update about your code or something better in order to delete xls file and subsequently create User parameters?

Cheers.

Hi! When the link cannot be deleted, there are two logical reasons. 1) You are trying to delete it when it cannot be because of other dependency. 2) It is a corruption or a bug that the link cannot be deleted. Either way, I would like to take a look at the files so I can understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!
