Inventor 2013 CAN still import AMDT 09 files

All,

I thought I'd share a little discovery we made here yesterday. Before we upgraded to Inventor 2013, there was a lot of fuss and hesitation due to 2013 not having the AMDT import wizard functionality. This lack of functionality was also confirmed by our VAR.

I can confirm that Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 DOES have the usual Mechanical Desktop import wizard.

I can also confirm that it still doesn't bring in extruded text 🙂

I've attached a collection of screenshots as proof.

Hello,

Do you have always 2012 + MDT2009 installed on your computer?

Thanks in advance for any precision.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

As part of the upgrade to the 2013 Product Design Suite, we always remove every trace of everything related to 2012.

We used the "quick" uninstall tool that was part of the 2012 Design Suite.

Mechanical Desktop 2009 isn't touched. We just leave it where it is and uninstall everything around it.

So no, we don't have 2012 installed.

Then it works only because you leave MDT2009 on your computer.

If you don't have the 2012 release of Inventor, you are not able to install MDT2009.

You will get this messgae:
