Inventor 2012 SP1 Hole Note Quantity Error

I've attached a sample part & drawing of a hollow cylinder with 6 equally spaced radial holes drilled around it.

If you change the depth of the hole you will get a different quantity of holes in the drawing hole note.

I get a hole note quantity of 6 holes which is correct if I set the hole depth to 1".  Change the hole depth to 2" and the hole note quantity shown changes to 5.  Change the hole depth to 3" and the hole note quantity changes to 4.

I often draw bushings with radial holes like this and have to take care to not let this behavior create a wrong drawing.

Has anyone else experienced this error?

Thanks,

Chris Hutchinson

Hi Chris,

While our development is working to fix this problem, I hope you can find useful the following workaround.

In the model, edit the Circular Pattern and change the Creation Method from Identical to Adjust.

After that, the quantity in the hole note will be correct regardless the hole depth value.

I hope it helps.

Kind regards,

Alessandro

Thank you Alessandro this work around DOES fix the hole note quantity problem.

I have been editing the hole note manually (changing to a static value) to change the quantity to the correct value in the idw.

Thanks,

Chris Hutchinson

Hi

I have the same problem in Inv 2014. Its just the holes wich is on top og the cirkular surface. Whatever quantity i type, it always shows up with (x-2) holes.

And it didnt work with tha Adjust-setting either. i have also tried with different type of holes.

Is there another solution for this???

Anders
