Check your ATI drivers, do a complete un-install of the driver, reboot and
install of the current or newest driver. Sometimes the driver update doesn't
properly flush any old components from the system.

Sure, Windows Vista 64-bit ( but the same was on 32, too ), Intel Q6600 quad
@ 2.40 Ghz, 4 GB Ram , ATI Readon HD 3870.
Maybe it could be something with DirectX or some other 3d acceleration?
