Inventor 11 Install 1406 Error

Hi all,

I am familiar with TS1056239 -- Flash 8a causes 1406 on specific key, however I have Adobe Flash 9 installed.

I cannot find any information related to Flash Player 9. Can somebody confirm that we cannot even use Flash 9, but are relegated to the Flash with Inventor? The TS suggests that it is only Flash Player 8a that is a problem.

The 1406 error I receive is identical to that in the TS for Flash 8a.

Product: Autodesk Inventor Professional 11 -- Error 1406. Could not write value to key \Software\Classes\CLSID\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}\Implemented Categories\{7DD95801-9882-11CF-9FA9-00AA006C42C4}. System error . Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

What are your user rights when installing?

Thanks,

but not really what I was asking; I need a confirmation that Flash 9 still causes this problem, and there is no fix.

Flash is installed in our sysprepped image, and then Inventor is installed at image time. We can automate an uninstall then reinstall, but that negates the image purpose.

I'd just like to make sure that this has been addressed (or not) before I apply a workaround that may not be needed. Your question about rights suggests that it should be working with full admin?

If there is no fix, then we will just have to perform the uninstall as per the TS mentioned; I had anticipated this already, but hoped Autodesk would have worked with Adobe for a fix, since Flash 9 issue is not mentioned in a TS.

Thanks again!

I do not think that the install is that smart. If you are creating a system
deployment, just leave it out. the Autodesk deployment will add in a flash
version, which will be updated automatically when a user needs a higher
version. Adobe(macromedia) allows detection of version in flash documents.
Currently Flash 8 is the limit internally in Macromedia Flash Professional
8. See screen cap attached.
