Invalid String Position in OldVersions Folder

Here's what I think is a bug, see what you all think:

I though the OldVersions folder would be a good place to store other files that are... "old".
So if you save Inventor files into this folder which don't contain the ".XXX" (revision number) within the file name, selecting the file in the open dialog window causes a serious error: invalid string position.
It seems to me that the program does not include error trapping if it does not encounter the "." in the filename.

This seems like something that could easily be fixed in the next SP or release...

I think these folders are just for Inventor to use. I've had Inventor crash
and temporary files seem to be saved into this directory. If you wanted to
store your own old versions I'd make another directory under your workgroup
and let Inventor use the OldVersions directory.

I'll also think that's why this directory always gets created even of you
set the Old Versions To Keep On Save to 0 and why we are still stuck with it
into SP2
