inv11 pro harness adaptive

How do you turn off "adaptive" for a wire harness assembly in INV11 Pro
I dont see the option anymore like it was in 10

If you really have a good reason to do so (we strongly recommend that users
shouldn't remove the adaptivity of the harness), there is a way: right click
the harness sub-assembly and select "Properties". Go to Occurrence page, now
you can uncheck the "Adaptive".

Thanks,
Wei

yeah Ive got a good reason,
I have multiple assemblies that use the same harness.
So I create the harness in the first top level assembly and then turn its adaptivity off in all the other top level assemblies that use that harness. the top level assemblies all use the same harness but other components of that top level assembly change.

This is why I wish harnesses could be created in their own assembly file and simply inserted and then constrain the connectors to their correct spots and routed as necessary Constraint information, routing information, etc..would be stored in the top level assembly and in the harness file you could specify a maximum wire length so that you insert the harness and if you constrain the connectors to locations that would exceed the specified max wire length this would generate an error similar to "You have exceeded the max wire length for this assembly, please create a new harness for this project" or something like that.

This would be huge for me seeing as how I have TONS of products that use simple wire assemblies like 1 wire with a ring terminal on each end. and having to recreate even the simplest wire assembly has become time consuming. When just dropping that harness component into an assembly and constraining the end connectors would be great.

As for the drawing of the harness I wish there was a straighten wire command to allow me to show just the straight wire with the connectors at the end, not using the nailboard is a pain even for simple wires

Having to recreate the same harness that might be used in 50 top level assemblies is a total pain in the ass with the harness module the way it is now. I would hate to be a computer manufacturer or someone who uses the same ribbon cable assembly for tons of different top level assemblies.

But thanks WEI I found it where you have hidden it.

In R11, the Cable & Harness module supports configuration and reuse, which
may meet your requirement of copying and reusing a harness. In the top
assembly, you can use "Place Component" to drop the harness sub-assembly
(which had better self-contain all its necessary connectors). Then right
click the harness, and select "Make Adaptive". This command will create a
new harness sub-assembly and harness part, by deep copying the original
files. The new harness is adaptive, and can change or update within the top
assembly.

Hope it helps.
