Inv Shortcut key map

If my single cell isn't deceiving me, I'm sure I can remember a map of Inv's default short-cut and hotkeys - I think it was produced
as an M$Excel spreadsheet. I've searched through the group and only found one thread related to this, but then horror of horrors,
there was a billion lines saying that type of attachment is no longer allowed.

Why aren't M$Excel attachments allowed ?

Does anybody have a keyboard map of ALL Inv short-cut and hot keys etc - in any format ?

I'd find Inv9 useful, but I'm sure others would like Inv10

Why isn't a COMPLETE list given in the Help files ?

Why isn't this documentation included with the installation ?

Duncan,
Haven't got around to installing IV10 yet but there's a list in the IV9
helpfile if you do a search for "shortcut keys" in the index.

Rob,

I'll forgive you - it's Monday morning

# I know what I'd like ... what I'd really, really like ...

A pdf map of ALL short-cut (Adesk & Win) and ALL hotkeys (Adesk & Win) in the "documents" sub-folder under ?:\Program
Files\Autodesk\Inventor#\

It'd incredibly helpful to have a COMPLETE set of documentation installed onto the H/D under Inventor# so I don't have to bribe the
IT git wizard with a pizza just to get hold of the installation disks so I can then read the currently limited documentation that
comes on the disks.

Dinner, here I come 😉

Duncan,
I just had a look on the discs and there's hardly any info about IV on them,
mostly Autocad!! The bit on the shortcut keys is exactly the same as in the
Help Files. There is however a very useful part that says (about the
Customisation > Command tab) Click through several categories to see the
associated commands

Useful!!

I thought it was hard to remember the hot key settings from the dialog box once I altered them to my taste. So I made an excel file to illustrate what my settings were (to myself - since it is tapped to my workstation).

Attached is a zip file containing my excel file and the matching xml file that it represents. Please note that these are from IV9 and I have not reworked for IV10 yet (just installed on Friday to my station for configuration purposes).

Thanks.

This is a start.

Now to arrange it into a keyboard style map.

Please let me see what you come up with. I will be setting up IV10 in the next few weeks and would be nice to inform my users how I set these. Of course they can set their own (floating profiles here) but I will set the base.

I added a "print list" tab where you can print all the shortcuts to a
condensed grid and tape it to the monitor for easy referral.

Aaron R. Friedman of ARF Designs built this thing and he should be
recognized as such.

Once it is filled out (tab2; Fill-In) it is an invaluable tool to keep all
the shortcuts sorted out into something logical.... and you know how it goes
when the need for a change of proceedure in the key mappings happens and
then you can't remember what the heck you changed.

Great Excel file Quinn, Kutos to Aaron for creating it.

So I take it that the Print List tab is a manual fill in? I did not notice any references back to the "Fill-in" tab values.

It is just a manual thing but hopefully it will print out approx 2"x3". It
would be cool if it was linked.

That spreadsheet was created for R8 so the Styles editor and such need to be
added.

It was strange that Duncan was looking for it... I only recently "found" it
after having misplaced it for quite some time.

I decided to create the print list as an auto-fill from the key values in
"Fill-In" sheet.

I threw in my shortcut file (which seems to be in a perpetual state of
change) which corresponds to the spreadsheet just in case someone wants to
hit the ground running with keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks for posting Quinn

That was exactly the one I remembered ... now why can't Adesk include something like that in a documents folder that's installed
onto the H/D ?

You'll have to see Sting about Synchronicity

And a super-duper special thanks to Aaron for doing all the hard work in the first place. Adesk should be indebted to you.

Thanks for "smarting-up" the file Quinn. You must have just tooo much time on your hands!!!

This is a great resource, I am going to use it as I setup IV10 and Print a large plot of it for the CAD area. Then I will print your little list, laminate them and stick them on all the monitors.

Thanks again to the originator of the file and to you for giving it some brains.

We need some genius to take the "Fill-In" sheet and port it to an xml file
so it would act as a "control" for hotkey assignments.

You're welcome...

I just wish I had time to use Inventor these days. But my major client
is embedded in the other SoftWare package. i just paid up my yearly
subscription to IV, but I don't know if I'll even have a chance/need to
load R10.

But I do keep reading this newsgroup.
