inv 8

Is there any way to save back to Save back to Inv 7 I Am the only one
testing out Inv 8 and nobody can open my files.

You can't and never could save a file in a previous version of Inventor's
format. If it's absolutely necessary to open a part in an older version,
STEP or ACIS is your only route and it'll come in as a dumb solid...

And just for reference, you can't save back to earlier versions of most 3D CAD software (SWX, ProE, etc...)

The file format remained unchanged between R6 & R7. (There
is an exception to every rule :-))

Thanks for the clarification. You can take the solid model back as a "dumb" solid but not feature based. Assemblies lose assembly constraints. Can't take an associative drawing with the model. Many more loses but I think Anthony should get the point.

That is because INV7 was nothing more then a over priced service pack for INV6
