INV 5.3 (6) on XEON versus P4.....

Was having this: P4-1700, 1GB ram, SCSI disc with Win2K,
got this: XEON 1700, 1 GB ram, SCSI disc with WIN XP.

It seems like the new one is slow compared to my old one.

Open file-dialog-boxes and typing file-names e.g. 537564
occurs like finding first the 53xxxx, then 537xxx, and so on.

Same slow when printing, especially with WINWORD: 2 pages
send to print, and immediately closing WINWORD occurs with
warning dialog: Word is printing, do you want to close / cancel....

As this could be both the change to XP and to XEON I would like
to know if the same occurs to someone out here.

I know this could be OT, but hoping for suggesting with any settings.

its winxp.

i just upgraded and its ALOT slower than win2k overall i think.

Sorry to tell this switches were all allready marked as you suggested.

Perhaps earlier explained, but does ii help with the second XEON installed?

What about this Hyperthreating possibility?
