Introduction To solid Modeling

I need to put together a presentation (for upper mgmt) Describing an
overveiw of solid modeling
(What it is), (The Process) What does it take to create a solid model, and
(Why) the benifits that can be reaped from taking the time to create a solid
model.

Maybe someone has a sales type presentation I could adapt? Ideas?

It's like have a warehouse full of parts and stock materials including all
the latest bending, forming, machining, cutting, fastening and welding to
deal with those parts and materials in the space of a PC and all that stuff
is only a few mouse clicks away, but other than that I can't really see any
benefit.....

This might also help, back when cad was replacing board dwgs the companies
that held out and didn't move to cad had problems finding people willing to
work on the board. People do not want to go backward in their skills. So
you do not want to be at the backend of the curve. When the economy picks
up I think a lot of people will be surprised at the number of jobs that
changed or will change to solid molding quickly.
Design reviews go much faster when solids are used, even better when
animation showing the assy procedure is used in the review.
Also if you had listed the type of design you do it would help in giving
you ideas or info.
