Interoperability between Autodesk Inventor and Showcase as well as 3ds Max

Dear all,

Anyone has idea on this topic? I have Autodesk Product Design Suite Ultimate package. What have I figured out are:

1. AutoCAD is ABLE to link with 3ds Max Design very well under Manage Link function. Once AutoCAD file is modified, 3ds Max file will be updated without changing any scene.

2. AutoCAD is ABLE to link with Showcase very well under Suite Workflow function. Once AutoCAD file is modified, 3ds Max file will be updated without changing any scene.

3. Autodesk Inventor is ABLE to link with Showcase very well under Suite Workflow function. Once Autodesk Inventor file is modified, Showcase file will be updated without changing any scene.

BUT...

1. Autodesk Inventor is NOT ABLE to link with 3ds Max under Suite Workflows function. Once Autodesk Inventor file is modified, a brand new 3ds Max file is generated instead of updating original 3ds Max file.

Is there any way to maintain the link between Autodesk Inventor and 3ds Max Design?

Many thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Patrick

Nicely worded post.  Very clear.

Unfortunately the answer to the question is "No".
