We are experiencing an intermittent condition where the computer will slow down to a crawl while working in Inventor. It only seems to happen when Autocad (or Mechanical) is also open. It just happened and when I opened task manager to see what was happening, one core was running flat out and Autocad was the program using the resources. The weird thing is I had not used Autocad for several hours and all that was open was one small drawing. Closing Autocad fixes the problem, but if you don't, the condition lasts a long time (have never tried to wait it out) We have seen this on 3 of our 4 workstations and it happens randomly.
