Installation question...please forgive my ignorance

Hello all...

I am an MD user, and I want to get familiar with Inventor. I loaded IV8
recently, and I have a problem.

On the opening dialog box, my "getting started" buttons appear as white
boxes with a red "x" in the middle. If I move the cursor over one, I get a
"ghosted" text to appear, and when I select one, I get an "Internet Explorer
Script Error" box.

I am running IE 6.0 with SP1 installed. I remember seeing some update
information on IE when I loaded IV8, and I was sure I selected "update" when
I installed.

If anyone has a suggestion, I'd certainly welcome it! I like MD alot, but
I've been hearing good things on IV, and I'd like to give it a whirl.

Thanks...newgroups rule!

Bill

Bill,

Delete your temporary internet files in IE and give it another shot.

Actually, you'll probably have better luck installing Microsoft's update
811630 to fix scripting errors in Inventor 7 and 8 with respect to the
Getting Started Guide or on-line help. You can install this directly from
the install dashboard for Inventor Series (or Professional) 8.

That should fix your problem.

Best regards,
Bob

Thanks guys...I cleanded my files out as Jason suggested, and it looks like
that may have worked...the fun now begins!
