Inserting a JPEG or BMP into a Drawing Sheet

Hi guys

I am running inventor 2010 suite with service pack 2 and when I try to insert a JPEG or BMP into a Drawing Sheet (not a sketch on a part file), the image does not appear. I have done this on previous versions numerous times and it worked perfectly fine.
The message which appears on the screen says "TEMPEMBED.BMP" and it has a photoshop CS4 logo. When I do a print preview, nothing appears on the page. I have opened up a previous drawing sheet, which has a JPEG & BMP inserted and the image is shown, but when I try to insert another image on the same drawing sheet, the same thing happens.
I am running a pretty fast machine, with an intel i7 processor and a pretty hardcore graphic card. Any ideas?

what is your default program to open image files?

If you're getting a Photoshop logo is that it? Remember you need
Microsoft's Paint to be the default program for images to work (know this is
the case with decals, so possibly true here too).

Hi Sam

I have changed my default image viewer to photopaint and then windows image viewer and the same problem still persists. Photoshop is not the default image viewer.

I am having the same kind of issue except I can not even get to the point where I am inserting the raster image. The "insert file" option on the sheet screen is grayed out. I am using 64-bit Vista (yes, I know but I was not asked).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem. It was cured by rebuilding the windows user profile. I would suggest to contact autodesk support

MANAGE TAB , INSERT OBJECT, CREATE FROM FILE , BROWSE TO IT, BOOM.
