Ineventor Not Bringing Up 2D Sketch Planes

recently installed inventor pro 2014 on a school computer for a project we are doing, one problem. when i click 2D sketch nothing happens, so i have no wau to make a sketch. i cant find anyone with the same problem any help would be great.

Welcome to the forum.

What happens if you RC on the plane in the browser.  Do you have an option that says "New Sketch" ?

One methord I use is to Press F6 to get a 3D vewe, go to the Modle Pain to the left, click on the "+" to expand the origin, left click on the plane you want to creat the sketch on, click the right mouse button and select new sketch, as per the screen shot attached.
