Good day
I hope somebody can help me.
I have a 2d drawing from coreldraw x5 that i can get exported as a dwg and dxf file
the thing is that once i add it into inventor 2014 it displays the lines, but the lines isn't connected which doesn't allow me to extrude it.
all line are on a visible layer but invetor tells me that the objects have no volume.
I have googled and yahooed myself sick and can't find any help.
if anybody has a idea you can get hold of me here or mail me.
Did you set the option to create coincident endpoint constraints on import?
Zip and attach the dwg file here.

What version of Inventor are you using.
Zip and attach the dwg file here.
All the usual and obvious questions.
What are your intended units for this part?
mm or inches (the part measures 90 inches square.
The design is really easy - why not simply sketch in Inventor?
IT's in milimeters, and this is only an example, constrains doesn't work nor either sketch doctor, should be easier to import one of most popular file format in the world (.cdr), i have tons of sketch 2d in cdr and i have to redo all of them when i need using in inventor, plus, in the autodesk artcam they work fine!
OK,
Let's cut it to the facts.
The geometry is rubbish.
It is splines where it should be simple lines and arcs. Curvature display illustrates very very poor quality.
It is not symmetrical.
And it is inch units, not mm.
ok it was a poor example but you can try with any sketch tha was made in corel and expor to dwg, all the curves have problems
I do not have any experience with Corel Draw.
Can you set it to output the geometry as primitive lines and arcs.
When I open the latest file that you attached I see ellipse for what should be primitive circle.
I see spline curves for what should be primitive lines and arcs.
yeah that's the problem with corel, it have no way to change the way the curves are
I think my workflow would be -
Import the dwg from Corel Draw.
Convert the geometry to Sketch Block and move to Origin.
Start a new sketch and trace over the imported geometry with proper geometry, constrain and dimension.
Delete the import.
