Hello,
I have recently downloaded a .stp file of an AOD pump from a manufacturers website. Once I imported it into Inventor the appearance is a rust color and all features have a yellow outline. I am able to insert into a main assembly but I have not found a way to change the color or get rid of the yellow outline. See attached screen print.
Can anyone give me some advise or suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi estberg,
It looks like your model came in as multiple surfaces, or a composite of surfaces. You might be able to use the Stitch tool to turn them into a solid, or you might need to work a bit harder at it. If you post the file someone can have a look for you.
If keeping the file a surface model is okay, and you are using Inventor 2012 or earlier then you can expand the Surface Bodies node in the browser and then right-click on the Surface node and choose Properties, then you can set the color.
If you're using Inventor 2013 then you'll need to go another route. See this link:
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Yes, I tried to clear the color of the imported model but has no effect.
I am using Inventor Pro 2013

Post the url to the download or zip and attach the original file here.
I was able to change the body color using this method but it is still outlined in yellow. Seems like there is a problem with the model I am not seeing. I will continue to work with the model to see if I can repair it. The file is too large to attach.
Anyone know of a resource covering working with imported models?
Thanks,

Yes, I tried Curtis's suggestion and I am able to change the color but it is still outlined in yellow.
Here is the URL for the file.

It is outlined in yellow because it is a surface body rather than a solid body.
I will take a look and see if it can be solidified.

If you use these Import Options it will import most of the assembly as solid bodies.
The fastenters were still surfaces, but the one I checked looked like it would be easy to solidify (if you know how) first removing some extra surfaces representing the threads.
see attached for the surface bodies
