Hello
I am just trying to find a way to import a dwf file into inventor as a dummy model.
I want to be able to create/assemble parts around the dwf model and make sure they fit.
I was hoping to save having to put the files into Navisworks and constantly check for clashes...
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hello,
I don't believe you can bring a DWF into any of the native CAD programs from which they are created. A STEP or IGES might work better for you if all you want is a "dummy" model. My question would be, if you have a DWF... do you have the original model that it came form? If so you can create one of these formats that will work in Inventor.

This works for 2D. I don't know about 3D.
