Image and AutoCAD drawing in inventor Drawing

Hi all,

I am an engineer and i use autodesk inventor for 3D drawing

I was given a complex autocad file for some simple editing. the finial output can be a pdf file.

I was trying to import to inventor drawing, but it takes too long and it never finish.

and i was thinking to import it as a jpg so that i can add sth on top. but the import image option is not avaliable.

can anyone help

Feel free to ask additional question if it is not clear.

Basically, importing the simpler drawing from ACAD into Inventor sketch environment will be more better than import a complicated drawing.

If you create a new sketch in Inventor, the Insert Image is grayed?

Why not just edit it in Autocad and print to PDF.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

How about using Insert Object command to insert your jpg file into the drawing?

Refer to the attached picture:  Manage  ->Insert ->Insert Object ->select Create from file option and click Browser button to choose your JPG file.

I only see Image is available when editing the Title Block. Anyway, this also can help you insert the picture but I do not suggest you using it .

I think you have more image file choices when using a Sketched Symbol.
