IGS conversion

Since we are on the topic of surfacing...I have a few problems here. I am trying
to open some rather complex IGES files. I've tried all options on and off and
all combinations (Healer, Auto Stitch and Promote) with no luck. I can open the
files in MDT, but I'd like them in IV. Also, I have another, simple surface file
that I CAN open, but can't thicken all off. Some of the surfs thicken ok, but
some give me an ASM error. I've tried thickening in both directions. How can I
get around this? I was thinking of making projected sketches then extruding the
geometry, but I don't get completely close geometry (which is the problem with
thicken, I'm sure) Is there a way to close the surfaces? I've tried Heal,
without luck. The file just stops converting with Healer enabled.

Hi, Dave.

Can you post any of the data you are trying to work with? There are a few
broad statements that can be made, but looking at the surfaces is the best
bet.

Unfortunately the IGES parts Zip file is 17 MB...is that too big?

Yeah, that's a little big for my backwoods modem connection. What you could
do is port them to MDT, wblock a group out and send me (or post, somebody else
may want to look) the dwg.
