Without knowing more about the geometry of the two objects, I would
say set up a 3D Contact joint between the two, that should work. I
have tested that once before on a similar scenario and it worked quite
well.
You just have to make sure that your other object also has a joint
with degrees of freedom allowing it to move or else it will be
stationairy and cause your first object to bounce off.
