IDW - Symbols in dimensions

I try again.

Look in CF under "Symbols in IDW -
dimensions" for jpg of problem with the same subject.

The standard
symbol for diameter is not like the dimension itself.
How can I change the
symbol to correspond to the dimension?

Regards

Ole

Sorry for the hijack, but to a newbie CF does not mean a lot.
I gather it is a placement folder out in cyberspace somewhere. Can I have some directions please.

Thanks.

As Ole said, there is a great FAQ placed by Sean Dotson on this
group. He does this as volunteer work and users find it very
useful. All new users might want to take a look through it for
good Inventor and newsgroup information.

Customer Files (CF) is an area for upload of problem files for
review or sharing. Users are asked to zip any files prior to
uploading to conserve download time and server space.

For NNTP newsgroup readers the Customer-files newsgroup can be
found at
news://discussion.autodesk.com/autodesk.autocad.customer-files.

You may also access the customer-files group via the HTTP
web-based forums at
http://discussion.autodesk.com/WebX?14@@.ee940b5.

Ole

I don't see a post of yours in customer files. All I can guess without seeing it is that
maybe you are missing the Aigdt font or something along those lines?

weight of the text? or did i miss what the problem is?

You got it right Tracy.
I want the weight of the symbol to match the weight of the text.
do you know how to change this or if it is possible at all.

I'm situated in Norway and the Company does work after the Norwegian
Standard and a standard called Norsok that applies to work connected to the
Oilindustri in the North Sea.
That's why this is important for me. My intention is to stop using AutoCAD
for making drawings and for that to happen I need to do some adjustments in
drawing-part of Inventor.
Another problem is those symbols for sections and views. Is it possible to
hide them since it's not possible to change them anymore (at least to my
knowledge).

i'm afraid that correctly interpreting your question is about all i can do
for you and will have to defer to those more knowledgeable in the group.

my "guess" is that you need to create a new text style with a matching
weight... but how easy that is i don't know, maybe there is a quicker easier
fix.

Whatever text you are using, look in character map for the Dia. symbol. Use the
Alt-#### ASCII code. Some fonts don't have some symbols. I'm trying to make a
plus/minus in RomanS...I'm afraid it doesn't exist.
