Hi there
i got a picture attached of the problem im facing. What I want to accomplish is keep the text within the border I created when creating the text block.
If the file name is long, it just stretches past the boundary instead of creating another line.
Another quick question - why when creating a new sketch does the view always have to get flipped around...I just made it so its always upright so maybe that will fix that issue
My first thought is in the text edit box, what is the justification set to for the text. I would think it should be set to left upper corner.
Also, what is the text height? Is it too tall such that if a second line was to appear the second line would be below the bottom edge of the box?
It doesn't look like it, but I thought I would just ask.
I know in our title blocks, we added a second line that needed to be filled in the iproperties to avoid this. That way it was always justified correctly.
As far as your second question, that is just the way it is. Annoying as it is. I added this idea a while ago that suggestes this being fixed. Feel free to cast your kudo vote for it.

First make sure you are using a "TEXT BOX" and not a single line of text.
Secondly, Inventor will break text into multiple lines IF there are spaces in the text string.
With no spaces, it does not know where to break the text (it basically considers the string one long word).
With spacing, it can easily contain the text within the limits of the text box.
Possibly consider using an iProperty rather than the FILENAME for your drawing description.
In the example below, we pull from the Inventor "COMMENTS" iProperty to populate our drawing title, and Inventor breaks the property into however many lines of text are necessary to stay within the width limit of our text box.
the text height is only 3.5, justification is upper left, however it doesnt make a difference where I set it. My box is deffinetly big enough to have 2 lines.
its more work now to go to the comments section and write the file name there. You see, all my file names have underscores separating the words because of the program that then has to read the files after. Thats why its thinking its one word. It works fine when there are spaces in the word. But yea Im just gonna use the title for it to fill in the info.
So, sneaking a space in the text line is out of the question? Somewhere? Depending on where you place it, it hardly shows up.
