idw and pdf files

Is it possible to save idw files to pdf files?
If so, Do I require Adobe standard or do I have to have Adobe professional.

Yes it is possible to write them to PDF.

I am not positive, but I think as long as it can write PDF it should work. There is also
other programs that will do it.
You can find some of them that do it here

Thanks for advice Kent.

I can change DWG files to PDF because there is a Acrobat icon on the on the toolbar, but in Inventor 5.3 there is no icon so it doesn't appear possible.
At the moment I am having to convert IDW to DWG then convert to PDF.
Any positive help would be appreciated.

Regards

Bernard

Where did this Acrobat icon come from? It doesn't come with AutoCad so you have to have
added it at one time. I have never had Acrobat, but if that is truly what you have, I
know there is a way to print to it. Maybe using distiller which is part of it?

Thanks for advice Kent

The Icon appeared in Mechanical Desktop after loading Adobe automatically. The help file in Adobe does say that Autocad is an acceptable format for Acrobat.

Bernard,

As Kents says, you may very well have a printer
also called Adopr PDF or something along those lines now. Look in your printers
folder. If so, you should be able to "print" to it from any aap to make a PDF
file.

Thank's for your help Kent and Howard.
The adobe printer 'adobe PDF' was there and made it very easy to copy idw to pdf and email to my customer.
