i called autodesk...

I just recieved a call from an autodesk marketing guy, asking me if I was planning on renewing my subscription in a few months. I told him that we were really not sure due to the "promised updates and fixes" that haven't seem to have taken place. I asked him if he was hearing this from others and he said no I was the first person in 3 days that didn't say yes...(interesting)??? I asked him if he had a list of updates for each, AutoCAD, MDT, and IV for the upcoming Release 8 and he said no, but he did give me a number to call. 800-225-1191. I called this number and talked to another marketing guy who also could not answer the questions. He said he would have one of the IV applications guys call me to answer my questions concerning upcoming features and fixes. Does anyone else want this uys name, maybe if we all call we could get some info..(you know what happens if you don't try...)

I have been called by several people and none of
them were told that we would be renewing.  Maybe the guy you spoke with
hasn't called anyone in 3 days!

I don't ever recall any software company
"promising" any updates or fixes. Your license agreement says "As is". So who or
what are you quoting?

And this is acceptable to you? Not to me when product deficiencies cost me
daily.

The underlying theme in recent discussions has been that perhaps they have
gotten away with this in the past but they will be held to a higher degree
of accountability in the future since their recent bait-and-switch tactics.

But I also expect that despite the recent uprising within the discussion
group the user community at large is oblivious to the issue and apparently
like you quick to accept mediocrity.

And so, the wheel keeps turning.
