How to use Flush Constraint to drive plate Size?

I have two simple plates, plate 1 has been dimensioned and plate 2 has not.
I place them in an assembly and neither is able to be made adaptive. When I
use Flush contraints for oposite sides of the second plate in an attempt to
make it grow/shrink, I get error messages that indicate that the 2nd flush
constraint is inconsistant with the 1st flush constraint.

Why is the adaptive property gray-out with either part?

How do I make plate 2 by using constraints, assume the same size as plate 1?

I've played with this for an hour and still can't figure it out. I know I'm
missing something simple, but I don't have a clue as to what I'm missing.

Hi Jim

Make sure the plate that is dimensioned is also the one that is grounded.

There is a mechanism so that a part can only be made adaptive in one assembly, and that
can sometimes get set when you are experimenting as it sounds like you are Open the
part in its own window, and then to Tools>>Document settings. Select the Modeling Tab
and uncheck Adaptively used in Assembly.

Thanks again for your help. After looking over some of my settings, I was
able to size second part the same as the first part!
