How to NOT create automatic sketch constraints

Sometimes when I am sketching, I do not want Inventor to automatically place sketch constraints. Is there some way to do this while sketching? (i.e. hold down the 'ctrl' key while sketching)

Did you try holding the CTRL key down while sketching?

Do you guys use the left hand or right hand ctrl key? Which one seems to work better?

I use the left one myself but this in no way reflects my political
persuasion......

In R11, go to Tools->Application Options->Sketch->set Constraint Placement
Priority to None.
