How to model a Clock Fusee??

This involves putting a spiral path on a concaved curved surface... So far I have failed to come up with a way of modelling it, or even making a representation, as I can't apparently project a thread onto the concaved surface. Anyone any sugestions?

TIA,

Tref.

This puts a spiral path onto a curved surface, not sure if this is what you are after but it may point you in the right direction (Inv 2012).

Thank-you, indeed, just what I want! Worked a treat!
