How to manually express parameters on a drawing?

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of help working with parameters and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm wondering how I can manually express a parameter in a note by typing it out - In other words, assume that the "Add Parameter" button were nonexistent and I had to manually type out some expression in the note such as <<something>><<something>><<d10>> to get the parameter to appear on the sheet once I hit OK.

The specific reason I'm looking to do this is that within the hole note dialog box, there is not a means to add a parameter using the stock interface, and I'd like to add a bolt circle with a parametric dimension associated to it.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to learn about this it'd be greatly appreciated!

Andrew

I currently use the two-step process of RightClick>Edit Hole Note, then RightClick>Text to Add Parameter and other text to the hole note.

Nice if it were a single-step procedure.
