How to make single surface of part transparent so inside of part is visible?

Inside an Inventor assembly, when in a HLR view mode (I dont want to use shaded mode), How to make part transparent. Example a clock assembly in HLR mode wont show hr & min hands because the glass face cover is not trasparent.

How to make this glas face transparent.

There is this another thread that explains how to do this in a shaded mode, but I need it in HLR mode (Except for 1 part)

i cant because there are extruded features on the glas face part that i want to show in assembly. If i hide the whole part then I will loose these details.

Have a cut feature on the glass part that removes the flat glass? the extruded parts wont be transparrent though.

I would probably end up doing it in photoshop layers.
