How to make a spring move

Hello everybody, I'm doing a project for school and I built a shock absorber. I've already done about 50% of the project, but I'm havin a problem with the spring, I can't make it move. And I don't want to use any animations, I want to be able to move the part manually. Also there is a preload force applying on the spring, so I have to move (preload) it for x mm to the left. How do I do that? I've attached a photo and the project files for you to understand what I need. 

1. How do I make the spring moveable

2. How do I set an offset between the 2 plates, for the spring to be preloaded

Open "forum" file from the project folder to see the part.
