Hi boys,

 

I have a question, need help sure

 

How I would wrap/coil a tape around this attached picture?

You see the rounded edge, it's not fully circle

I left you the browse three to help you following the construction of the coil.

The steps are described in JD post above.

Hi!

 

I d'ont know any tool to make this automatically.

 

Most of all, 2D and 3D sketches ... with a final sweep.

 

I made one manually, just for curiosity... it works well... see the file attached..

Note: You can went to the Parameters table and operate some changes.

YES.

 

It is exacly what I were looking for, Thank you very much.

But unfornitutly I couldn't open the ipt, I have Inventor 2012.

 

Could you please make it on IV2012.

I forget to mention, the rectangular that I have its end not like his start.

Start with rectangular dimension for example 4 x3 but it end with smaler dimension for example 3 x 2.

 

How would the rectangular now folow the shape?

Loft or Extrude with taper the "tube" as a surface body (increase size by radius of swept feature).

Coil line as surface body.

3D sketch to find Intersection Sweep Path.

Workplane perpendicular to beginning of Sweep Path.

Create profile and Sweep.
