How to list design data of imported step file?

When I import a step file from a supplier, I usually only can see a base1 or equivalent object in the browser.

Is there a way where I can list the design data (explode the base1) so I can be able to pick individual surfaces and save them as an Inventor part?.

What is "design data"?

Can you attach the original file or at least a screen shot here?

Are you familiar with Feature Recognition?

Are you familiar with the Repair or Construction Environments?

For excample, how can I list all the parts of this bearing instead of base1?

Or how can retreive the flange from this step file and save it as a Inventor part?

There are no parts - it is one solid.

You could Revolve-Cut the "bearing" from the flange and then add a standard bearing from Content Center.
