How to import a CATIA CATPart into Inventor and keep the CATIA tree?

How do I import a CATPart into Inventor and keep all the geometrical sets?  I can import a CATPart ok, but it's seen as one big composite object, even though there are about a thousand surfaces in the CATPart.

You cannot maintain feature history trees going between CAD programs.

You might be able to run Feature Recognition on some of the features you need to change (was the entire part modeled incorrectly?).

If you are on subscription - you can download the Feature Recognition tool from the Autodesk App Exchange.

It's not necessarily the "History" tree that I want.  It's the specification tree from CATIA that I want, containing Geometrical Sets, Bodies, and Ordered Geometrical Sets.

Only the base geometry is translated.

Hi genscripter,

Thanks for reporting!

The CATIA tree about Geometry Set nodes cannot be imported into Inventor, you can try to set import option CreateSurfaceAs=IndividualSurfaceBodies then thousand surfaces should be imported individually instead of a big composite.

Where do you find that setting?  I checked the "import" options, and it only allows me to import as one big component from the pulldown.

You could send to Construction (or Repair) Environment.
